Technical Lead

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead - Electrical & Automation to join our Engineering team.

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, this role is key to driving innovation, optimization, and safety in our electrical and automation systems within our operating sites. You'll play an integral part in project execution from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to best practices and Bulla standards.

**_T_**his role embraces a hybrid working model including working from home, with the requirement to be on site at our Manufacturing facilities in Colac, Victoria as required**

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Develop and refine Bulla's Electrical Installation and Automation standards and strategies.
- Provide hands-on support and technical leadership for electrical and automation projects.
- Design, implement, and document electrical and automation systems, including electrical drawings, IP registers, and automation architecture.
- Conduct analysis on production processes to identify improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate across teams to define project scope, develop specifications, and manage project budgets.
- Manage contractor activities to uphold the highest safety and quality standards.
- Mentor and train team members on automation systems and industry best practices.
- Stay updated with electrical standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

**You will have**:

- A degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechatronics) or an A Grade Electrical License.
- Proven experience in electrical and automation within the food processing industry, ideally in dairy.
- Proficiency with automation software such as RSlogix 500, Studio 5000, Step 7 Classic, TIA Portal, WinCC, and Ignition.
- A solid knowledge of AS/NZS3000 and other electrical installation standards required to ensure safe and compliant electrical installations,
- Experience in design and specification of electrical and automation projects, tendering and evaluation of contractor proposals,
- Previous experience in managing external contractors and systems integrators, supervising electrical installation works and plant commissioning
