**What You’ll do**

As the Assurance Manager, you will be the guardian of Metcash's third line of defence assurance and internal audit framework. Your role involves evaluating and monitoring controls, processes, and data integrity across the Metcash Group. Using a blend of technology and manual review, you will interact with all levels of management, driving value-added change across the organization.
- Collaborate with Risk Advisors to comprehend the key risks to our business and the role of assurance.
- Assist in crafting the annual risk-based audit plan.
- Execute reviews within the audit plan, fostering a 'one team' approach with external assurance providers.
- Navigate 'grey areas' on audits: Work on diverse issues requiring evaluation of various factors and complexities (never a dull moment).
- Effectively Manage stakeholders / Communicate effectively: Interact with stakeholders and effectively communicate with impact. Help us better serve our customers
- Identify opportunities for enhancing internal controls/processes, facilitating agreed actions with management.
- Manage the preparation of assurance reports.
- Adaptability but also adherence to technical standards of Assurance work and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders.

**What You’ll bring**
- Five to 10 years of strong experience as an assurance practitioner, delivering Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Business Assurance services in a large, complex corporate environment.
- Previous experience in a large Chartered practice is desirable but not essential.
- Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIA, or similar.
- Accounting or Finance degree.
- Experience with judgmental assessment of control design given risk and commercial considerations.
