**The Opportunity**

The Spatial team at Urbis is seeking a motivated and dynamic **Assistant Spatial Analyst** based in **Melbourne**. In this position, you'll work closely with our consulting teams to deliver high-quality GIS services across a wide range of projects for both Urbis and Cistri. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with **1-3 years of industry experience** who are eager to collaborate with leading experts and fast-track their geospatial career.

**You will**:

- Collaborate with consulting staff to raise awareness of spatial services and assist in offering advice to address clients' complex challenges through innovative spatial service.
- Compose high-quality cartographic products of varying complexity, ensuring they align with corporate branding, standard product specifications, and cartographic principles to meet client-defined requirements.
- Manage and maintain spatial data to ensure accuracy and accessibility for project needs, including data creation, geocoding, and maintaining authoritative corporate spatial data, adhering to industry and Urbis best practices.
- Perform a range of spatial analyses and other geo-processing tasks, including Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and spatial queries, capturing and maintaining methodologies to demonstrate and quality control processes to maintain consistency and standards.
- Engage in solution engineering, including web GIS, publishing digital maps, and configuring spatial tools and products.
- Assist with draft proposals, tenders, and submissions for potential projects, and preparing weekly timesheets.
- Actively contribute to the positive culture and collaborative environment of the Spatial team.

**About You**:

- Tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Economics (or similar)
- Experience using desktop GIS (ArcGIS Pro preferred) and enterprise or web GIS platforms (ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online preferred)
- Experience using other associated technologies (including open source) that are used to manipulate data (FME preferred), automate tasks (Python preferred) or develop solutions
- Experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
