**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for an open minded and enthusiastic Assistant Spatial Analyst to join our Melbourne Spatial team. This role offers flexibility and is varied in nature, which will be extremely beneficial to a recent graduate looking to expand their knowledge through invaluable work experience and exposure to leading industry specialists.
You will work collaboratively to deliver GIS services and support our consulting staff. This will include providing GIS support to clients across Urbis' entire range of projects and activities, from economists to planners and heritage specialists.
**You will**:
- Liaise with consulting staff at all levels of the business to raise awareness of how spatial analysis can contribute to client outcomes.
- Assist in composing maps, with varying levels of complexity from simple to complex, fitting with the corporate brand and standard product specifications as well as cartographic principals to client defined requirements.
- Assist in geo-processing, including concatenation of simple and complex attribute and spatial queries for map display and/or data extraction.
- Assist in ensuring a consistency of product flowing out of the GIS team to the wider business;
- Assist in providing input into draft proposals, tenders and submissions for potential projects;
**About You**:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Systems or a related discipline
- Working knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro and A.G.O.L as well as QGIS and the Microsoft desktop suite
- Experience with a wide variety of spatial data types, including their creation and maintenance
- Strong communication skills with an ability to network with other team members and peers to develop strong internal relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritise.
- Effective workload planning.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret research data.
- Computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Office and research databases.
