We are seeking an Advisor External Affairs to provide a full range of strategic media and public relations services aligned with AV's strategic objectives. This is a Full Time, Permanent position currently based in Doncaster but within a work-from-home hybrid arrangement.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Manager Media the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Contributing to the proactive development of, and delivering media strategies to support significant or potential reputational issues and organisational goals and priorities
- Preparing proactive and reactive media releases and organising media conferences about AV and its services, programs and initiatives
- Supporting the development and production of communication across a broad spectrum of media, including digital and social channels
- Seeking out positive media opportunities to promote the high-quality care and service AV provides to patients and the wider community
- Developing and maintaining strong, meaningful and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

**About you**

To be considered for this position, you will possess:

- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant training and media experience
- Excellent written, oral and publishing skills with a strong knowledge of social media and digital channels
- Critical thinking, analysis and issues management skills
- An understanding of what makes a story newsworthy and how to generate media interest in story opportunities
- The ability to produce high quality content under tight deadlines.
- A willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
- A current Victorian Driver Licence

The position is graded at AV3. The AV grade salary range for AV3 position is $79,172 -$93,690 (pro-rata) plus 10.5% superannuation. Salary on commencement is offered at the base of the AV grade.
