St Agnes Catholic High School is seeking a passionate, creative and innovative Teacher Librarian (7-12) for the position in our Library.

St Agnes has a student-centred approach to our pedagogy with a focus on individualised learning. We provide a diverse curriculum where learning experiences are personalised.

Students, within a Catholic faith environment, will learn how to be responsible global citizens, how to think creatively and critically, how to communicate and work collaboratively.

We see our Library as the centre of learning and connection in our School, where our library team will support staff and students to access information relating to the curriculum and foster a love of reading and learning.

Reporting to the Assistant Principal (Learning), this role involves working across all aspects of schooling and will work collaboratively with leadership and all staff to align library, information services and digital literacy with learning across the curriculum. Responsibilities of this role span across Teaching and Learning, Management, Leadership and Collaboration, Community Engagement and Promotion of Library Services. The role will manage a small team of library staff.

We are seeking a Teacher Librarian who has a passion for and knowledge of literature across a wide range of genres and a thorough understanding of relevant areas of the 7-12 curriculum, particularly as it pertains to English, Literacy, ICT and Information Services. They will be a collaborative and inspired leader who is an excellent communicator and can build relationships across our school community including students, staff and parents.

The successful applicant will manage the administration and technical services of the Library and oversee the activities of the Library Technicians and support the Catholic values of the St Agnes community.

**Role description**

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Teacher Librarian with extensive knowledge in managing and teaching in a school library. The purpose of the position is to develop:
**Intentional Partnerships**

CEDP teacher librarians collaborate with educators by:

- Developing information literacy capabilities.
- Providing targeted resources for student learning, curriculum delivery and professional learning.

CEDP school libraries support the needs of the wider school community by:

- Providing access to a range of resources that reflect and broaden the values and needs of our school community and their cultural experiences.
- Broadening literary experiences
- Fostering a sense of community through a range of programs

**Inquiry - based pedagogies**

CEDP teacher librarians have key skills in information and digital literacy to guide learners to master the process of learning through:

- Exploring, collecting, interpreting and evaluating information into understanding
- Expressing and communicating their knowledge in original content
- Reflecting on their learning

**Adaptive learning environments**

CEDP Teacher Librarians develop CEDP school libraries spaces that are flexible, agile, welcoming and inclusive spaces that facilitate current teaching and learning pedagogy by:

- Facilitating and fostering access to a range of resources in digital, media and print format
- Evolving with learner needs, current pedagogical thinking, school goals
- Inspiring and provoking students to question and inquire
- Encouraging and providing access to participatory learning connections
- A data driven approach to personalised learning and resourcing.

**Digital Enablers**

CEDP teacher librarians develop autonomous and adaptive transliterate students who can communicate and collaborate using a variety of digital resources and media.

CEDP school libraries use and curate digital library resources by:

- Utilising a range of innovative technologies to access knowledge and amplify learning.
- Communicating about library programs, activities and resources,
- Extending the library beyond its physical space to classrooms and into students' homes and their places of study and recreation.
- Developing digital citizenship and digital literacy skills of students and staff.

**Leading (Transformational)**

Teacher Librarians lead learning by:

- Building capacity in information and digital literacy across the school
- Identify, evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies for future learning innovation to meet the educational goals of the school
- Managing the learning resources of the school library for accountability and accessibility
- Promoting professional development
- Using an evidence based approach to development of library services.
