**Description**
Woodhousegrove Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and experienced **Japanese Language Teacher** to join our bilingual kindergarten program on a fixed term basis. Commencing asap in Term 3, 2025 until the end of tern 4, 2025. This position will involve working with our four-year-old kindergarten classes, delivering immersive Japanese language experiences that support early childhood development and cultural appreciation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Plan and deliver interactive, play-based Japanese language sessions in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the kindergarten’s bilingual curriculum goals.
- Collaborate with classroom educators to integrate Japanese language and cultural elements into daily routines and activities.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages language exploration and cultural curiosity.
- Monitor and document children’s engagement and language development in accordance with kindergarten guidelines.
- Communicate with families about the bilingual program and support them in reinforcing language learning at home.
- Attend relevant planning meetings and contribute to team collaboration and reflective practices.
**Qualifications**
- Proficiency in Japanese (native or near-native fluency) and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Qualifications in early childhood education or language teaching (e.g., Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or a degree in Language Teaching)
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and a sound understanding of bilingual or language immersion programs.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate language activities for four-year-old children.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Experience working in a bilingual or multicultural education setting.
