**Privacy Compliance Specialist Analyst**:
Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. And we’re back (in a big way).
We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. For us, flying is so much more than simply taking off and landing (although we understand that is quite important). It’s about going the extra mile, in the air and on the ground, to create authentic experiences that put our guests firmly at the heart of everything we do.
No matter our role - we are united by our ambition to be the most loved airline in Australia, and always go one step further for our customers, colleagues and our wider community.
**Who we’re looking for**:
Privacy matters to us. Honouring it in everything we do at Virgin Australia aligns to one of our core values - doing the right thing and enables us to maintain trust with each other, our customers and with our stakeholders.
Our Privacy team support businesses, functions, leaders and individuals across the Virgin Australia Group to deliver processes, products and infrastructure that help us honour people’s privacy in everything we do.
You will be a fast learner, a confident communicator, willing to liaise with various stakeholders across Virgin Australia and have a well-developed attention to detail.
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Play an important role in supporting the Virgin Australia Group’s privacy compliance framework and safeguarding our customers’ trust.
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of the privacy compliance program, team, and division objectives.
- Investigate routine and complex privacy/data incidents in accordance with procedures, efficiently and effectively. This will include research, evidence gathering, interviewing, reviewing documents and analysis of whether an allegation is substantiated and requires regulatory reporting. You’ll also create well-written reports for internal stakeholders to document your findings and remediation activities.
- Develop and prepare reporting insights using consistent sources of data, internal systems, internal knowledge of privacy compliance plans, and credible external emerging compliance risks.
- Support the development and modification of reporting systems and databases for privacy related investigations.
- Follow and help maintain the Data Breach Incident Response Plan and supporting processes.
- Collaborate with internal partners on privacy initiatives and assist with tracking and trending to identify potential risks.
- Assist with special projects related to the development of the privacy compliance framework (i.e., coordinate with IT and Information Security and Legal teams regarding privacy issues).
- Interact cross-functionally with other lines of business (such as internal information security) to coordinate investigations, initiatives, programs, and remediation activities.
**You’ll be great in this role if you**:
- Have hands-on experience of leading or working on relevant routine and complex incident investigations, creating investigation documents, generating and reporting metrics.
- Have experience investigating and mapping business processes and data processing activities
- Are confident developing and preparing reporting and risk management tools (e.g., dashboards)
- Can work with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
- Are familiar with privacy laws, data protection, and information security regulations, standards and frameworks e.g., Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, Security of Critical Infrastructure Act, General Data Protection Regulation and APRA cyber standards.
- Have project management skills (desirable).
- Have an understanding of technical infrastructure, networking and system development lifecycle (desirable).
**The qualifications we need for this role are**:
- Relevant higher education degree in business, law, technology or compliance (essential)
- Recognised privacy information technology data related certification or degree (nice to have)
**What you’ll get from us**:
We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry - including (but not limited to):
- Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)
- Flexible working arrangements (including work hours and work from home)
