**The role**
We currently have an opportunity for a qualified and experienced aircrew officer to join our dedicated team. This position is offered as fixed based, conducting Helicopter operations at our Westmead base.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- undertaking aircrew duties in accordance with CareFlight’s policy and procedures;
- ensuring secondary non-flying duties are undertaken as allocated by the RW managers;
- participating in aircrew officer training, as required / requested by RW managers; and
- acting as a media liaison, as requested, and in collaboration with CareFlight’s Media, Communications & Media team.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- a minimum 500 hours as a helicopter Aircrew Officer;
- previous SAR/EMS experience with a minimum of one (1) year’s full-time civil experience;
- Front Left Hand ACO experience;
- NVG competency in accordance with CASR Part 133.
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Aircrewman).
- Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET).
- CASA Class 2 Medical.
- A sound understanding of CASRs, rules and regulations pertaining to the ACO role within a rotary wing operation.
- A demonstrated understanding of CRM/Human Factors, risk management and safety management systems.
**The following will be highly regarded**:
- BK117-D2 experience;
- First Aid / Resuscitation Certificate from a recognised authority.
