As an Azure Databricks Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Azure Databricks. You will work closely with insurance clients to modernize their data ecosystems, enabling advanced analytics and AI-driven insights.
Key responsibilities include architecting and implementing end-to-end data solutions using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Iceberg, and Azure Data Lake Storage. You should have experience in Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Fabric. You will design and optimize ETL and ELT pipelines using PySpark and Spark SQL, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate insurance domain requirements into technical solutions. You will lead data modeling for structured and semi-structured data, ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all data assets, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to technical leadership. You will also drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and integrating GenAI capabilities. Experience in collaborating with wider tech stakeholders to review, direct, upgrade, and scale the architecture is essential. You should have experience driving architecture decisions, architecture maturity assessments, and capability assessments of client data landscapes.
Technical skills required include Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric, AI and ML services, Mosaic AI, and Azure AI Foundry. You should be proficient in integration services using Azure Databricks and Azure native services, PySpark, SQL, and Python. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps and DataOps practices is important. Experience with Unity Catalog, DLT, and Databricks Workflows is expected, along with knowledge of RBAC and row or column-level security policies.
