**Our Journey**:
Our Support Services team provides non-clinical services that include food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

The General Services team at Monash Medical Centre, is seeking a qualified Patient Services Assistant who strives consistently to deliver high quality and efficient cleaning services

**Shifts Available**

**Position 1 - Emergency Department**

Monday to Thursday 06:30 - 15.00
- (64 hours per fortnight)_**Position 2 - Day Treatment Centre**

Monday to Friday 11:30 - 18:00
- (60 hours per fortnight)_**Position 3 - Day Treatment Centre**

Tuesday & Wednesday 14:30 - 22:00
- (28 hours per fortnight)_

**Position 4 - Birth suite (PM Shift)**
Week 1 - Tuesday to Saturday 14:30 - 23:00
Week 2 - Wednesday to Saturday 14:30 - 23:00
- (72 hours per fortnight)_

**Position 5 - Birth suite (Night Shift)**
(Roster to be confirmed 23:30 - 06:00)
- (7.5 hours per fortnight)_
**Position 6 - Ward 33**

Friday to Sunday 13:00 - 20:00
- (39 hours per fortnight)_**Position 7 - Ward 42**

Wednesday to Friday

**Wednesday shift 11:00 - 19:30
**Thursday & Friday 13:00 - 20:00
- (42 hours per fortnight)_

**Position 8 - Ward 44**

Tuesday to Wednesday 07:00 - 15:30
- (32 hours per fortnight)_**Position 9 - ICU**
Friday 15:00 - 23:00
- (16 hours per fortnight)_

**Position 10 - Birth Suite**

Friday to Sunday 11:30 - 20:00
- (48 hours per fortnight)_

**A Day in the Life**:
Based at Clayton working in a ward, ICU or the Emergency Department, the Patient Services Assistant role incorporates cleaning of patient and ward areas and patient transfers between wards and other clinical areas.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Patient discharge assistance
- Daily and discharge cleaning
- Use of lifting machines and slings and at times assisting with Bariatric patients
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Patient transfers with use of equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs.
- Dropping off and collecting patient related items to various services with the hospital such as pathology, blood bank etc.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Great time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks

**What you Need**:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Food Handlers Certificate - Level 1
- Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment (desirable)
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- Current Victorian drivers licence (desirable)
