An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Dual-Tradesman (Mechanical / Electrical) to join our busy confectionary manufacturing facility. The role is based at Rowville, working on the Afternoon shift from 3pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday. The primary objective of this role is to assist in the implementation of all preventative and emergency maintenance on complex machinery. Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: - Providing reactive and preventative mechanical maintenance and service to all plant and machinery. - Fault finding, diagnosis and problem solving - Perform safety checks and inspections - Installations and removal of plant and machinery - Liaising with the Shift Manager to report on breakdowns, down time and schedule planned maintenance - Fitting, assembly and commissioning of mechanical and hydraulic systems - Maintenance of different systems, electrical, mechanical, Steam, pneumatic, electronic, buildings and grounds - Understanding of Facilities maintenance, eg Boilers, compressors, Cooling towers - Perform various welding - manual, gas, tungsten, arc - Liaising with contractors The successful person will be able to demonstrate: - Strong safety focus - A trade certificate in Mechanical fitting (essential) - Electrical qualifications with current electrical license - Forklift License - Industrial mechanical and electrical experience - Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills - Experience with weigh head and packaging equipment - Accuracy and attention to detail - Sound understanding of quality assurance systems and the relevant food and safety standards - Prior experience within a food manufacturing environment will be highly regarded Darrell Lea is a dynamic business that values Respect, Honesty, Accountability and Teamwork.
