EnergyAustralia Yallourn is currently recruiting for a Mining Surveyor to join us onsite.Yallourn consists of a base load power station, fuelled by brown coal from the adjacent Yallourn mine.

The Yallourn Mine produces a staggering 17 million tonnes of coal annually and removes around 8.5 million cubic metres of overburden.

**The Role**

The Yallourn Mine is responsible for providing coal to the Yallourn Power Station at 100% reliability. This helps to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective energy to our customers.

The Mine Planning and Environment Team supports this purpose by providing survey, mine planning and environmental services that ensure compliance and operational requirements are met. Working within a small team of SME mining professionals, you’ll be responsible for the provision of professional surveying and associated advice to the Yallourn Mine and maintenance alliance teams.

Naturally, you’ll also contribute to a culture of compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations.

**Your role requirements will include**
- Provide survey quality assurance checks on software designs or GPS information
- Conduct topographic survey of the mine surface, underground features and any special layers or levels. Includes day to day requests, plus monthly and annual operational surveys.
- Collection of geodetic data for the monitoring and deformation surveys required for the management of the open cut mine. Including GPS and UAV data collection.
- Promote and contribute to the continuous development both internally and externally of a culture based on the EnergyAustralia brand values
- Report all identified safety, health and environmental hazards and/or risks immediately via the incident reporting procedure.
- Compliance with all safety and health and environmental regulations, policies and procedures.

**Qualifications, skills and experience**
- Associate Diploma/Certificate in Surveying is a minimum requirement
- Require experienced surveyor with recent experience in surveying instruments including GPS
- A working knowledge of Cad and GIS systems would be required
- An understanding of basic IT skills would also be advantageous.
- A commitment to a positive team culture and commitment to health & safety and environmental management principles

Having a working knowledge of the Latrobe Valley’s mining industry is advantageous, but not essential.
