The Social Content Producer contributes to the development of high-quality creative content across Department of Health social media channels to support the social media strategy and editorial plan.
This role will identify positive opportunities for provision across digital media platforms. They will create and coordinate engaging and relevant content to extend storytelling content across social channels.
They will provide advice and input into the social execution of department campaigns and champion innovation, creativity and connectivity within the department's social communities.
They will effectively manage priority work, stakeholder needs, and the delivery of high-quality creative products to enable achievement of the department's strategic objectives.
They work closely with Branch colleagues, minister's offices and relevant business areas within the department and will use creative content to tell stories that demonstrate the benefits of government policies and initiatives. They are responsible for ensuring all content is clear, engaging and timely, and aligned to the department's digital strategy and strategic plan.
As appropriate, they may also be required to provide surge support to other policy portfolios to ensure effective media and communications services can be delivered by the Branch during emergency, crisis and peak periods.
**Accountabilities**
- Edit, write and design engaging social content across all department social media channels in accordance with the social media strategy and editorial plan.
- Identify positive story opportunities for provision across digital media platforms, identifying risks and issues that may be contentious and providing authoritative and expert advice on how to manage them.
- Provide support for implementation of social media strategy, channel planning and the development of rich media content across the department's digital channels.
- Contribute to Communications and Engagement Branch strategy and services activity, monitor performance and lead best practice planning and execution that aligns resources to strategic priorities.
- Forge strong connections with stakeholders (internal and external) and work cross-functionally with other members of the Communications and Engagement Branch to facilitate consistent and high standard strategic social media content.
- Provide advice and assistance to departmental staff, senior executives and minister's offices on social media services.
- Support digital literacy by providing advice to colleagues on integrating social media into communications strategies wherever relevant.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (internal and external) and work cross-functionally with other members of the branch to ensure the delivery of seamless and professional communications services for all areas of the department.
