**What you’ll do**

The Category Manager brings the BIG W Strategy to life by delivering the Category Strategy to create the best range and create value for our customers to maximise sales, profit and customer satisfaction. A key part of this role will be to deliver product innovation and new ranges which meet customer needs where we want to accelerate our pipeline of product in a meaningful way. This role also delivers on partnering with new and existing partners, unlocking new product and partnership opportunities to transform the BIGW business.
- Deliver key product and innovation pipelines partnering with the BWA, Brand co, QA and our supplier partners, identifying market gaps and delivering to market in an accelerated timeline
- Partner with the Commercial team to build the category strategy by gaining a thorough understanding of customer insights & the market to contribute to the BIG W Strategy, makes clear recommendations and gains buy in from the relevant teams
- Partners with BWA, Brand co and our supplier partners to deliver the best product and the best unit price to deliver for the business and the customer along with our 2025 sustainability goals
- Curate ranges, refine pricing and promotion channel plan in line with Category Strategy, using Customer and Market insights to ensure it’s aligned to BIG W strategies, with a big focus on own brand development.
- Partner with Suppliers to build relationship and optimise supplier portfolio in category to increase sales, profit and customer advocacy
- Working end to end as one team across all Partnership Teams and broader Woolworths Business, thoughtfully creates products and ensures we are are delivering product which is simple to execute in stores and DCs
- To ensure that all products ranged within the category are compliant to Australian consumer law. To ensure that all own brand and exclusive brand products are approved through the Big W QA processes prior to ranging of the product lines. To understand BIG W's New Product Development process as it relates to the products ranged within your category

**What you’ll bring**
- Previous experience as a commercial retail buyer.
- Successfully trading a sizeable category in terms of $ and options.
- Strong partnering and influencing skills.
- Proven experience of building strong relationships to deliver a point of difference.
- Proven experience working towards KIPs
