**Assistant Category Manager - Food for now**

**The Role**

As an Assistant Category Manager in the Food for Now - Convenience food team, you will have full responsibility for the P&L of your categories, as well as working with cross functional teams to deliver projects end-to-end.

You will ideally have experience within buying and development of fresh foods, as an existing ACM or Buyer. Supplier relationships, a focus on availability and a passion for food is key.

**Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Deliver on sales, profit & key strategic KPI’s
- Optimising performance through Category Review process
- Drive data analysis and deliver insight
- Understanding our customer & market
- Build and maintain outstanding supplier & team relationships
- Drive our tools and systems to effectively manage category

**What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated FMCG and Commercial experience, preferably within food
- Proven negotiation, problem solving and decision making skills
- Positive attitude and enjoys the team environment
- Strong Stakeholder Engagement across many areas of the organisation including ability to self manage replenishment, logistics solutions as well as suppliers externally to drive best outcome.
- End to End mentality driving seamless execution in operations and best practices in buying and supplier management.
- Ability to problem solve independently driving best outcome for solutions but creating and environment to solve future objectives through strong planning.
- Work with Suppliers to develop metro lead initiatives that differentiate metro in a way that is tailored to our customer base to land best in class ranges.
- Ability to influence decisions made through rigorous planning, data lead thinking and taking stakeholders on the journey.
