**About the role**

Reporting into the Head of Public Policy & Reputation, this role has a focus on drafting policy submissions to external audiences, including governments and regulators, and developing and coordinating internal stakeholders to tackle public policy issues facing the business and broader industry. The role will also undertake research to support public policy formulation, and may assist with the maintenance and development of stakeholder engagement plans and external engagement as required.

Key responsibilities include:

- Responsibility for internal coordination, formulation and drafting of externally-facing public policy positions and relevant documents, both responsive and proactive.
- Undertake targeted research in support of formulating public policy positions on key regulatory and industry issues for wagering and gambling, with both a domestic and international focus.
- Support Sportsbet’s External Affairs team to foster and maintain productive working relationships with key public policy decision-makers as well as licensing and regulatory bodies.
- Increase internal stakeholders' awareness and understanding of the external operating environment and public policy developments from regulators, governments and licensing authorities
- Identify, monitor and report internally on legislative, regulatory and other public policy developments that may impact Sportsbet.

**About You**

We’re looking for someone with very strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in public policy and submission writing, as well as:

- Sound understanding of political and governmental policy processes and formulation.
- Awareness and understanding of the political, policy and regulatory issues that may impact on Sportsbet and the wagering sector more broadly.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to represent the team internally and externally.
- Experience in heavily regulated or complex sectors would be highly regarded
- Effective in managing and influencing stakeholders pro-activity within a fast paced environment
