IT Site and Field Technician

**About the Role**

This role will be responsible for the planning, control and management of all IT infrastructure and assets. This involves provision and management of the physical environment including space and power allocation and environmental monitoring.

You will also be responsible for the processing and coordination of appropriate and timely responses to incident reports, channelling requests to appropriate functions, monitor resolution activity and keeping clients updated of services restoration.

The technician is expected to handle support tickets and remote hands requests from inception through resolution. This includes troubleshooting hardware issues with servers, network devices, cabling, and basic power connectivity.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Undertake routine installations and de installations of items of hardware and/or software
- Carry out agreed operational procedures, including infrastructure configuration, installation and maintenance
- Use infrastructure management tools to collect and report on load and performance statistics and to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure.
- Contribute to the implementation of maintenance and installation work of comms racks at Uniting sites
- Take action to ensure targets are met within established safety and quality procedures, including, where appropriate, handover to the business.
- Correct malfunctions, calling on other experienced colleagues and external resources if required.
- Document details of all hardware/software items that have been installed and removed so that configuration management records can be updated.
- Provide specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure best use is made of available assets, and to maintain or improve the installation service.

**About you**
- Extensive understanding of support processes including the support levels and escalation procedures and the importance of meeting SLAs
- Strong customer service focus, having to liaise with different parties to solve an issue
- Coordinate site operations to ensure continuity of services with minimum disruption to the client’s business operations and maintaining optimal employee/resident/guest experience
- Working knowledge of Comms Room processes and design (power, cooling, redundancy).
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, including End User compute.
- Strong understanding of servers, SD Wan routers, network switches, and patch panels. Must understand how devices are interconnected and how to troubleshoot hardware and layer 1 connectivity issues.
- Current drivers license
- NSW White card
