**Position overview**

The College of Health and Medicine (CHM) comprises the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, School of Medicine and Psychology, and the John Curtin School of Medical Research. Our Schools have some of Australia’s most pre-eminent health and medical scientists, and thousands of graduates that are among the finest medical professionals. We work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels. The Deputy Dean (Health Professions) will have national and international impact on the roles, capabilities, development, and workforce planning of the health professions and the careers of health professionals. This role comes at a time of significant change in health systems, and significant opportunity to influence the future of the health professions through the career development of individuals, supporting high quality academic health systems, and building the capacity for health workforce planning. The Deputy Dean will enhance the University’s engagement with the health sector and the impact it has in meeting key CHM strategic goals.

**The person**

We are looking for an appropriately qualified, highly collaborative academic leader, with a demonstrated track record of local, national and international expertise and leadership on matters relating to health workforce, health professions and medical program review. Having a clinical background would be advantageous.

The Deputy Dean (Health Professions) will work closely with the College Dean and other College Executives and senior academics. The Deputy Dean (Health Professions) will have an academic appointment within the newly-created School of Medicine and Psychology, and will report to the Dean, ANU College of Health and Medicine.
