Assistant Gardener

One of our clients, a local council within the Footscray area, is looking for an Assistant Gardner to join their passionate team.

This Job is a casual role, however will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.

Your shift will start at 6.30am and will end at 3.00pm

Pay Rate: $30.27 Per Hour + Superannuation.

Starting: ASAP.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Parks and Garden Team in delivery of services within the municipality in accordance with work plans and specified standards. Ensuring all work is undertaken in a safe manner.

**You will Need**:
Previous experience in horticultural maintenance.

Previous experience in implementation and operation of traffic management plans

Knowledge and experience in operation of a range of plant and equipment utilised in horticultural services.

Skills in the safe and competent operation of plant and equipment, including safe and competent handling of herbicides.

**You will be**:
Assisting the Parks and Garden Team with maintenance and gardening duties including but not limited to, watering, pruning, weeding, sweeping, mulching, fertilizing, mowing, spraying and planting.

Operating plant and equipment which includes but is not limited to, ride on mowers, manual and mechanical cutting tools, tractors and implementations, Elevated Work Platforms.

Ensuring weed control complies with Council adopted standards and procedures, all health and safety regulations and chemical manufacturer Infrastructures.

Assisting the Tree Maintenance Teams with general arboricultural duties, planting and tree maintenance.

Please Note - a Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status will all need to be obtained upon placement.
