**Job Summary**:
Responsible for tactical purchasing activities supporting Project buying within Direct Categories.
Execution of Regional category strategy, as well as supporting the global category portfolio within the market with medium/small spend and no team. Execute sourcing, contracting & supplier base management based on regional & local category strategies.

**What you will do**:

- Responsible for driving category strategy and execution.
- Drive external supplier performance in line with set objectives and targets
- Process compliance within Supplier Management purchasing
- Tactical buying activities within purchasing activities of the Australian Market, with support to New Zealand when required.

Within responsibilities:
- Sourcing, contracting and management of existing supplier base
- Drive performance improvements focusing on quality, cost, securing supply & lead time
- Drive Common Agendas with strategic suppliers, as part of a key stakeholder team
- Be conduit between global, regional and local team for respective categories
- Lead communication with key internal local stakeholders (including our functional directors & managing director)
- Focus on our Australian operations, and support our NZ based operations, as needed

**We believe you have**:

- Proven sourcing management experience (8+ years), contracting and supplier base management, project management experience, preferably global or international, change management, business management
- Proven procurement experience, ideally within a global organisation
- Strong communication skills are a must have
- Excellent stakeholder management skills are a must have
- The ability to present updates to our local leadership team members, as required
- A strong continuous improvement focus
- Preferred not Essential: A mechanical or engineer background
- A professional procurement qualification
