The Protective Security Advisor reports to the Manager, Protective Security. The position plays an important role in safeguarding the Bureau's customers, systems, personnel and facilities, ensuring compliance with Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
The role involves providing advice and guidance related to protective security operations and incident management, with a focus on security governance and training, personnel security and physical security matters. It is responsive to security enquiries from across the Bureau, and develops and maintains efficient security processes, workflows and records. It requires coordination across other Bureau teams and will regularly liaise with security vetting services.
The role contributes to the effective implementation and delivery of the Bureau's security plan and will be trusted to take ownership of designated security maturity improvement actions. It includes staff supervision responsibilities, with one security support role reporting directly to this position.
