Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Grade 1 social worker to join our Social Work Department. Working in the hospital sector, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team to provide social work services to patients, families and /or carers. In this role, you will work and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and complete psychosocial assessments; provide a range of patient-centred interventions; and develop care and discharge plans for referred in-patients and outpatients of Austin Health. This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience across acute and sub-acute clinical areas as a rotational position.
The Social Work Department will provide you with clinical supervision in line with the AASW standards, education and training to develop your clinical practice. The department will also offer opportunities to further develop skills in research and quality improvement.
