**Job Brief**

**Vacupack** is a fast-growing plastics manufacturer with products in every aisle of supermarket shelves. Our customers include some of the largest food producers in the world, and they value working with leaders and innovators.

Strong interpersonal skills are vital, as this position requires effective communication with suppliers and various departments within the company.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Leadership**: Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team and food safety programs in a 24/7 (3 shifts) operation.
- **System Development**: Develop and maintain food safety systems, including FSSC 22000, environmental, and other accreditations.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Drive quality and continuous improvement agendas within the factory.
- **Organizational Effectiveness**: Enhance organization effectiveness through solutions that improve productivity and promote a performance culture.
- **Training & Auditing**: Train personnel in Quality, Hygiene, and GMP responsibilities; conduct Internal GMP Audits.
- **Documentation Management**: Maintain, update, and review SOPs and company food safety systems; coordinate quality system documentation and records.
- **HACCP Management**: Verify and maintain HACCP monitoring records; ensure all HACCP Plan verification and calibration activities are complete.
- **Testing Programs**: Ensure product and environment testing programs are maintained.
- **Process Monitoring**: Monitor production processes to ensure quality procedures are followed.
- **Sample Analysis**: Coordinate the analysis of in-process and finished product samples.
- **Process Improvement**: Identify and implement potential process improvements.
- **Issue Resolution**: Investigate and address instances of non-conforming products and complaints.

**Skills and Experience**

This role is for a dynamic, energetic, self-driven, and results-oriented individual with a positive "can do" attitude and a clear focus on deliverables. To be considered, you must have:

- **Experience**: At leats 3 years Proven experience in a Quality Management role within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- **Qualifications**:

- Qualified Internal Auditor.
- Tertiary Qualification in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certificate in HACCP/FSSC 22000 Awareness.
- **Knowledge**:

- Comprehensive understanding of GMP, food safety, HACCP/FSSC 22000 requirements.
- Familiarity with legislative requirements for the business.
- Experience in a clean room and writing SOPs.
- **Industry Experience**: Exposure to and experience in the plastic manufacturing industry, with compulsory knowledge of thermoforming and injection molding.
- **Management Skills**: Strong people management experience, particularly in building and managing effective teams.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- **Additional Qualifications**: OHS qualification and experience will be highly considered.
