**The role**:
We are looking for an exceptional grant writer and communications all-rounder to support our newly created advocacy function at Whitehorse City Council.

Working closely with the Senior Advocacy Adviser, this role will be responsible for supporting the implementation of advocacy plans across all channels (including web, social media and print), providing strategic advice to internal clients and managing organisational grants.

The role will suit those within an avid interest in politics at local, state and federal level, who are keen to push for great outcomes for the Whitehorse community.

If successful you will help shape our new Communications, Advocacy and Investment Department.

**About you**:
You will be an expert communicator and strong writer with the ability to liaise and problem solve with staff at all levels.

To secure this role you will need a tertiary qualification and/or significant professional experience in advocacy, government relations, community relations, communications, marketing or a related field.

You will require demonstrated ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team in a demanding work environment, including working from home.

Previous local government experience is highly desirable, but not a requirement.
