**About the role**:
Working with the Development Officer Local History & Information Services, the successful applicant will be responsible for collecting and preserving the Local History of The Hills Shire, design and deliver training, actively engage staff and customers as well as undertake research and customer inquiries.

**Duties include**:

- Coordinate the digitisation and cataloguing of items including ephemera, pamphlets, newspapers and photographs that demonstrate the history of The Hills Shire.
- Create content when appropriate to record developments in The Hills Shire.
- Assist with the maintenance of hard copy Local Studies and Information Services collections.
- Provide direct Customer Service at any of Council’s libraries and process customer transactions for Council & Library.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Tertiary qualification in Library & Information Studies/ relevant discipline or currently undertaking relevant studies coupled with relevant work experience.
- Proven experience of local history.
- Strong technology skills, including digitisation and the use of metadata.

**Position details**:
Permanent part-time role, S1067, Salary: Up to $44 per hour + Superannuation + Performance Bonus (up to 2% annual salary) + organisational bonus (up to $2K) + Aquatic and Fitness membership discounts. This position is 14 hours per week, working Thursday and Friday.
