The purpose of the role is to provide the highest possible standard of support and clinical case work to men and women in the community within a trauma-informed care framework.

HopeStreet in Port Kembla (one of our larger sites) has been providing hope to the community since 2006 creating pathways for an increased demand of community members experiencing financial and food distress, as well as existing clients who live on the margins every day.

HopeStreet works to strengthen community through community development initiatives and individual support. We do this through our multidisciplinary team where we aim to build meaningful relationships through our community spaces, low cost and free meal services, and reception area. Our aim is to empower community who may be experiencing marginalisation through community led and driven activities, so that they can facilitate and take ownership of desired positive outcomes.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Alongside the HopeStreet Manager and Senior Caseworker, actively participating in the development, and delivery of Case Work services in Port Kembla that promote strengths based approaches, and Trauma Informed Care.
- Empowering men and women in the Port Kembla community through promotion and cooperation, consultation and collaboration.
- Providing information, education and group work services as required/requested.
- Undertaking all elements of case management and assessments in accordance with national standards and competencies and the BaptistCare policies and procedures.
- Building and maintaining key stakeholder and community relationships in Port Kembla, referral pathways with relevant local services, and facilitating effective access and referrals to and from other relevant local services.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key service providers to reach Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse community members.
- Individually working with men and women by providing culturally sensitive and appropriate service provision.

**Essential qualifications, experience & competencies**:

- Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Counselling or other relevant fields (Diploma minimum)
- Extensive experience working in a trauma informed, strengths based approach
- Demonstrated commitment to working with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, mental health issues and/or AOD (drug and alcohol use)
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, harm minimisation and community development.
- Advanced skills in risk assessment and case work.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a wider and multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders, services, agencies, departments, and government and non-government organisations.
- Actively engages in clinical supervision and line management
