**About the Role**

We are currently seeking a **Male Disability Support Worker** to assist a male participant who presents with complex behaviours of concern. This position is best suited to someone calm, reliable, and understanding — someone who can build genuine trust while maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring a safe, structured environment.

Your support will help the participant develop confidence, engage in the community, and enhance daily living skills in a positive and respectful way.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Behavioural Support**: Follow and implement individualised behaviour support plans to encourage positive outcomes and maintain safety.
- **Daily Living Assistance**: Provide respectful support with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and routine activities.
- **Medication Support**: Administer prescribed medications safely and record accurately according to the care plan.
- **Community Participation**: Encourage and assist the client to engage in social and community activities, fostering independence and inclusion.
- **Crisis Response**: Use approved de-escalation and support strategies during challenging situations, maintaining a calm and supportive approach.
- **Record Keeping**: Accurately document progress notes, behavioural observations, and incidents in line with organisational standards.
- **Team Collaboration**: Communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and fellow support workers to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Participate in professional development, supervision, and training to build skills in behaviour management and disability support.

**About You**
- Hold a **Certificate III or IV** in Disability, Community Services, or a related qualification.
- Have prior experience working with individuals who display complex behaviours (highly regarded).
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of remaining calm under pressure and using positive behaviour strategies.
- Show empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of others.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 38 per week
