**Administration Officer - Office of the General Counsel**

**Ongoing Position**

The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of newborns and women of all ages. The Office of the General Counsel is a small team headed by the General Counsel and responsible for the provision and coordination of the legal, governance and risk management services required to support the Women’s.

**Your contribution**

The Administration Officer will provide administrative support services to the Office of the General Counsel as coordinated and directed by General Counsel. The role will provide a broad range of administrative services as required to support both medico-legal and the corporate/governance/commercial functions of the Office including coordination and liaison with courts and tribunals and external law firms, liaison with staff across the Women’s staff, processing of information requests, file management, and general administratuve support for team members as directed.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Administrative duties: broad range of administrative duties including maintaining databases and files, meeting management, telephone support and correspondence management for team members
- Legislative compliance: manage and coordinate the legislative compliance process
- Medico-legal claims: manage requests for information, liasion with insurer and legal advisers, maintain database of claims and potential claims.

**About you**

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

- Exeperience in providing an efficient and effective administrative support function in a legal office environment
- High level of maturity and the ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information and maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times
- High level computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite as well as a demonstrated ability to learn new programs

**Influenza Vaccination Requirement**

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

As this role fits into category C of the departments risk ratings, applicants are strongly encouraged (although not required) to be vaccinated against influenza.)
