About the Role

The L&D Specialist is responsible for a range of duties associated with the planning, coordination, design and delivery of learning and development programs within SSI, across a range of programs and divisions and in accordance with Organisational Development plans and the Learning & Development Strategy. The role contributes to the implementation of the 70/20/10 learning framework; SSI’s Learning Management System; and the building of a continuous learning culture at SSI through a variety of ongoing development activities, processes, and projects.

Key Responsibilities- Coordinate delivery of face-to-face, blended and e-learning programs and manage the administration of learning activities on SSI’s LMS. Liaise with internal and external trainers and suppliers and obtain information about potential training packages and solutions.
- Develop or contribute to the development of internal training resources, including visual displays and presentations, user guides, participant and facilitator manuals, course summaries and session plans.
- Design learning content based on sound instructional design principles and adult learning principles.

- Participate in continuous improvement activities - including feedback and debriefing with manager; active participation in Communities of practice and working out loud with L&D team; observations by and for other trainers and other identified training needs.
- Administrative duties including providing reports to internal stakeholders, ensuring invoices are paid to external facilitators, maintaining accurate and timely data in the LMS.

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in human services, adult learning/education, training or other related qualifications - Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
- Demonstrated experience in identifying learning needs and developing learning solution.
- Experience in developing training content, evaluation of training materials and other learning resources.
- Exceptional organisational, administrative and time management skills.
- IT literate and able to work with client information systems.
- Working knowledge in MS office (especially PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships to achieve outcomes, build productive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively to achieve outcomes for the organisation.
- High level of verbal and written communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to provide unbiased advice.
- Ability to prioritise with a can-do attitude and solutions focus.
