**About the Organisation**

Salvation Army Housing Victoria (SAHV) are a community housing organisation providing homes for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, are on low incomes and those with specific support needs.

SAHV run a range of programs which include Long Term, Transition Housing Management, Crisis Housing and rooming house properties.

**About the Role**

The Housing Worker for SAHV will be responsible for tenancy and property management in line with the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), whilst ensuring awareness of tenant and landlord roles and responsibilities and ensuring at all times the managed properties are of good standard.

**To be successful in this role, you'll have**:

- Client centric approach
- A committed work attitude, the ability to follow direction and have a high level of self-direction and accountability
- An empathetic approach focused on tenant wellbeing and tenancy sustainment
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, support agencies and community groups to encourage community participation and improve outcomes for tenants - highly desirable
- Experience working with complex issues involving individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and coming from domestic violence - highly desirable

This is a full time opportunity for minimum 2 months with possibility for extension or permanency.

**Essential Criteria**
- Experience in tenancy/property management or social housing
- Good knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and/or community housing guidelines
- Highly skilled administrator and Data record keeping
- Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite
- Current driver's licence

Personally, you will demonstrate commitment to work within The Salvation Army’s mission and values, resilience, adaptability and responsiveness.

You must also be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and be willing to undergo a police check and Working With Children Check.
