
Service Technician

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Disassemble / Assembly of new / used equipment or repaired equipment.
- Disassembly, clean-up, and evaluation of parts.
- Surface preparation and painting assemblies and parts.
- Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, and parts used, labour hours, etc.
- Final inspection and completion of inspection report.
- Documenting and signing date compliance sheets.
- Work closely with the workshop Leading hand as several tasks in this role are closely interlinked with other functions within the workshop.
- Conduct valve diagnostic recording all service repairs and log in central database.
- Prepare Diagnostic and recommended action reports to customers for review and action.
- Initiate spare parts (ordering & picking) relating to value-add service jobs.
- Technicians will ensure that details of the valve, positioner, actuator, instrument, or safety valve are recorded properly for future use. These include but may not be limited to; type, size, action, trim, serial numbers, details of instillation (process and flow direction), any installed peripherals (solenoid, volume booster/tank etc.). Details of any on site modifications should be recorded.
- Customer communication - technical assistance, troubleshooting, parts write-up / determining disposition of repairs and root causes of failures.
- Participation in field service calls, as required, at customer sites. May require overnight stays from time to time.
- Responsible for personal safety and those around him/her. Ability to maintain excellent housekeeping standards and assist others in achieving workshop organisation & maintenance.
- Contributing to a good, positive, motivated, and inclusive work culture.
- Participate in frequent and scheduled Toolbox meetings to discuss operational issues. - Service status & progress updates - Safety hazards & risks -Potential tooling and work issues
**Requirements**:
- Trade Qualifications in Fitting and Machining, Machinist or Similar Automotive / Mechanical Field.
- Completed an apprenticeship as a valve technician or able to demonstrate appropriate level of experience
- Previous experience in the overhaul, testing of all valve and actuator types
- Proven mechanical aptitude and capability to deliver quality work.
- Experience in Process control either in a workshop or on-site
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
