**Support Worker Role (Casual) -**

**About the role**:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will be supporting our clients’ needs, helping them maintain participation in their homes and the community.

This role is responsible for providing flexible and responsive support in a range of community or in-home settings. This includes, but is not limited to: medication management, transport, assistance with personal care, meal preparation and shopping, domestic and cleaning duties, social support, skill development training and assistance to access the community. As part of this role, you will be liaising with clients’ family members where required.

Given the flexibility of this position, and the nature of care to clients, the role involves morning, afternoon, evening or night shifts, including weekends and public holidays. This role requires accurate and timely reporting and administrative duties to ensure clients’ service and support needs are registered, met and delivered in line with NDIS and Ambience Care WA’s Policies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure effective communication with other staff, supervisors, participants, family members and management is maintained through: the upkeep of accurate progress notes following each shift, appropriate handover of shifts, clear and timely reporting of incidents, and ensuring timely clocking in and out.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation, including daily case notes and incident reports.
- Follow and implement individual person-centred support plans for each client.
- Participate in staff meetings and regular training modules.
- Maintain a safe and non-discriminatory workplace by upholding WHS checks and responding to situations as required.
- Comply with the required duties of the shift, be they domestic cleaning or community support.
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with clients and staff at all times.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Have some experience working with the elderly, and people with disability.
- Have a high level of organisational, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to work cooperatively and individually.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to the NDIS principles.
- Be empathetic and passionate to deliver high-quality, person-centred support, in the home and in the community.
- Be resilient, adaptable, and responsible.

**Mandatory Qualifications**:

- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Current WA Driver’s Licence and Insured vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- National Police Clearance
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations
- Current First Aid Certificate.
