The role
The First 2000 Days program is a key initiative within the HEALTHQ32 and the Reform Strategy. The program works collaboratively with cross-governmental agencies and the Department of Premier and Cabinet to improve the development and early lives of Queensland's children by focusing on the critical window of opportunity between conception to five years of age. The First 2000 Days program aims to positively influence a child's health, development, learning, safety, and lifelong outcomes through enhanced service offerings and coordination.
Your key responsibility as the Principal Project Officer will include:

- Lead, manage and evaluate system-wide reform initiatives and priorities within the First 2000 Days program.
- Use evidence-based improvement and project management methodologies to support the design and adaptation of best practice reform programs and initiatives.
- Analyse data, policy and information to support reform activities.
- Liaise, consult and develop effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide timely advice and guidance to stakeholders and senior management on specific issues relating to the development, adaptation, and monitoring of reform projects and initiatives within the First 2000 Days program.

Two positions are open for recruitment within the Reform Office, with separate reporting lines:

- Director, First 2000 Days
- Manager, Investment, Strategy, Engagement Evaluation and Operations

The successful person
**To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated**:

- Understanding of the whole health system, including the complex interrelationships within the state and federal governments, non-government and private sectors, Primary Health Networks, Hospital and Health Services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations, and primary and community care providers and peak bodies
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships across the health system, including cross sector government and non-government, primary care, community-based care, and acute health system.
- Experience in leading, managing and implementing complex system-wide and/or state-wide projects that are time-critical and achieve expected deliverables.
- High-level analytical, data interpretation and evaluation skills including the ability to integrate multiple related activities to achieve deliverables and outcomes.
- High-level negotiation, verbal and written communication, as well as stakeholder engagement skills.
