Our government client is seeking an experienced MS Power BI Specialist for 12 month contract. This role will see provide effective and insightful reports (using Power BI, Excel and other tools) through research, analysis and interpretation; identifying business opportunities to streamline and enable timely reports to enhance decision-making and performance for stakeholders across the business.

**Responsibilities**
- Understand business requirements in Power BI context and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Create dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI
- Analyse data and present data through reports that aid decision-making
- Convert business requirements into technical specifications and estimate timeline to accomplish
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform detailed analytics
- Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI
- Create custom charts and calculations as per requirements
- Design, develop and deploy Power BI solutions as per needs
- SQL querying for best results, use of filters and graphs for better understanding of data

**Skills and experience**
- Data visualisation skills in Power BI
- Data modelling in Power BI
- Solid development experience in Power BI.
- Ability to source data through existing data systems and databases (SQL)
- Proven problem-solving capabilities
- Advanced communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience in an Agile environment
- Power BI Report Generation experience
