**The opportunity**

As the First Nations Liaison and Action Lead, you will be the connection between the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation and the Chain of Ponds Collaboration where you will link the cultural values, past and present, within the landscape of the Moonee Ponds Creek catchment including a cultural engagement trail.

The Chain of Ponds is an ambitious partnership aiming to transform the Moonee Ponds Creek into an iconic waterway for Melbourne providing high social, cultural, and environmental values, with 13 partner organisations committed to achieving this goal.

This partnership includes representatives from local and state government, community groups, not-for-profits, water authorities and research organisations — all with a passionate interest in improving the Moonee Ponds Creek.

Recognition of Indigenous Cultural Values and involvement of Traditional Owners is a strategic priority of the partnership with suggested actions that include:

- Cultural Values Assessment & Uplift
- Engage Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation with the Collaboration
- Engage Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation’s Narrap Team in on-ground projects including Re-imagining Moonee Ponds Creek, the Immersive Trail and the Bandicoot Flight Path Project.
- Cultural Awareness Training

**Day to day**
- Grow and maintain relationships with and between Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation and the Chain of Ponds
- Build on what’s working well, share learnings from different projects, encourage input from different members across the two groups
- Identify, assist, and manage a variety of projects on time and to agreed budget
- Seek opportunities to promote the successful delivery of completed projects in integrating Wurundjeri Cultural Values
- Work with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation Water Unit Manager and Chain of Ponds Lead to obtain funding for future projects

**Skills & Experience**
- Working with traditional owner groups in the land management / caring for country space.
- A good practical and cultural understanding of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Indigenous communities, and their decision-making processes
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and different computer systems
- Ability to engage with people and stakeholders and work together to achieve common outcomes
- Experience in managing projects, along with great written and confident presentation skills

This role is scoped at a full-time salary $89,264 plus 11% super pro rata for 3 days per week, $53,558.40 plus 11% super.
