**Position Information**:
Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus caters for high potential and gifted learners. Students enrolling at our school are selected on the basis of results in the Selective School Test conducted by the NSW Department of Education, High Performance Unit. The student population of 800 is stable, based on this enrolment process.

We are committed to creating a unique teaching and learning environment which nurtures the whole child whilst celebrating academic excellence, personal best and giving back to the community within a holistic wellbeing framework. We extend our high potential and gifted students through enrichment and acceleration, and a broad range of extracurricular programs including sporting, cultural and academic opportunities. In CAPA we offer Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts.

High Impact Professional Learning for teachers will support all Strategic Improvement Plan initiatives, incorporating a focus on the development of data literacy to support evaluative practices and student outcomes.

There is a valued partnership between the school and the Parents and Community through collaborative decision making and funding of school-based initiatives. As equal stakeholders we are committed to working together to ensure the best outcomes for all students.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Capacity to lead staff from across CAPA to deliver high quality curriculum through differentiated teaching and learning and assessment practices that cater for high potential and gifted creative and performing arts students.
- Capacity to provide strong educational leadership to collaborate with co-curricular teams to map the continuum of learning to deliver positive outcomes for high potential and gifted students.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive relationships with faculty, the executive team, and wider school and educational community, through exemplary interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in collaborative leadership for whole-school improvement aligned with the school's strategic directions and vision, resulting in enhanced learning outcomes for all students and staff.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
