Supported by an Intensive care unit of 18 beds, our wards are fully supported by a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients, carers and their families, by providing a comprehensive integrated cancer centre with advanced surgical technologies._

**We currently have a 5 day per week role (Job share may be considered for the right applicants)**

There is a new opportunity for a Social Worker to join our Allied Health team to work within our Allied Health Team. This role with support patients and their families will all aspects of their psychosocial care, including helping to navigate emotional and practical concerns.

The role will provide a consultative service to the inpatient wards as required, as well as managing enquiries from other patients.

This role will work closely with the multidisciplinary team as well as with key stakeholders in the area. The successful applicant would have had experience in working with oncology patients, preferably in an acute setting.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Degree in social work and eligibility for membership of the AASW.
- Experience working in an oncology or acute hospital setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues associated with chronic illness, disability and issues associated with life threatening illness.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated skills in assessment, counselling and case management.
- Working knowledge of relevant community resources.
- Advanced level written and verbal communication skills.

**Desirable skills include**:

- Experience working with issues of loss, grief, bereavement

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Camperdown, NSW 2050: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (preferred)

- Australia (preferred)
