**About the role**:
The Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Clinical Research and Database Officer role will support clinical and research teams at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Surgical Outcomes Research Centre (SOuRCe).

Key activities include but are not limited to:

- Maintaining and updating clinical records in local and national sarcoma research databases - including input of data regarding histopathology, imaging, and treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) derived from multiple electronic and paper-based medical records at various sites

**Essential Criteria**
- Degree in Biomedical Science or Science
- Proven strong organisational ability to set priorities and manage multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity to liaise with professionals across multiple disciplines
- Self-motivated with the proven ability to work independently with mínimal direction and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals
- Highly developed analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy in record keeping and commitment to quality
- Demonstrated ability to follow strict protocols
- High level computer skills, particularly with data collection and entry, and advanced Excel skills
- Immunisations that comply with the requirements of an NSW Health Category B worker.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience in extracting clinical information from medical records for clinical databases
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, including pharmaceuticals, pathology testing and cancer medicine, especially sarcoma
