The role of a Disability Support Worker is to provide care and support to individuals funded under the NDIS. These supports may include personal care tasks, developing daily living skills, accessing the community and household tasks. The aim of these services is to empower the participants to achieve greater independence and develop self sufficiency skills. These supports and services are to be delivered in a manner that is safe and promotes the clients choices, rights and decisions and are in line with the NDIS legislation (National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013) and NDIS (Code of Conduct) Rules 2018.

This Disability Support Worker position is currently a casual role with potential to transition to a part-time position to the right applicant. This position will be paid under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award in accordance to the level of experience and qualifications of the successful applicant.

**Responsibilities**:

- Follow all policies and procedures
- Provide safe and effective supports that meet the clients needs and requirements
- Implement personal hygiene and infection control
- Act on any feedback, complaints, work health and safety concerns, potential risks to participants and workers including discrimination, exploitation, neglect, abuse or violence to management
- Build trusted relationships with participants

**Skills**:

- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and listening skills
- Ability to work inclusively, collaboratively and be adaptable
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills that reflect creativity
- Perform with high integrity
- Demonstrate competency in various operating software systems
- Strong time management skills and the ability to be punctual

Qualifications/ Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent credentials in disability, aged care, mental health or community services
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- New Worker NDIS Induction Module
- Drivers License
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening
- Minimum of six months experience in the industry preferred

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.76 - $33.96 per hour

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
