About the Role

Dandiiri Community Library is looking for an Administrative Officer. In this role, you will contribute to the effective and efficient administrative management of the library by providing relevant and timely support to the Senior Project Officer and Principal Advisor. You will work within existing guidelines to provide basic resolution of problems by reference to established procedures.

Administration roles play a crucial part in ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and effectively. As such, the library requires capable, organised and efficient administrative staff who are responsive to a continual range of demands and needs from both internal and external sources.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Undertake the day-to-day library duties and responsibilities, including returning and borrowing of library resources, story time with Kindy and playgroups providing a cultural lens for non - Indigenous staff accessing resources.
Support the library manager in the operational requirements, including working with school-based staff and community to ensure cultural safety
Co-ordinate the creation and maintenance of procedures and documentation relating to library network support and services supporting training will be provided.

Mandatory Requirements for and Identified Role:
It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
