**About the role**:
The position will assist in the implementation of a range of Council operated Youth Services Programs and events and promotional activities aimed at providing a range of educational, developmental and recreational opportunities for young people in Merri-bek.

**Skills and experience require to perform the role**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science or related field and /or demonstrated experience working with young people.
- Experience in program implementation and group work for young people
- Experience in working with young people in youth support
- Demonstrated skills in working within a youth participation / community development model
- Ability to cooperate and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, partnership agencies, community groups.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues facing young people and appropriate service responses
- Experience in project and /or event management (Desirable)
- Written communication skills, specifically evaluation of programs and reports, including to funding bodies.
- The ability to work as a positive team member and to foster and encourage constructive interaction between the staff, the community, and young people.
- Administration skills, computer skills
