**The role**:
The Retail IT Technical & Lab Specialist serves as a Subject Matter Expert across a wide range of Retail Systems & Applications, collaborating closely with other SMEs in the team to enhance their collective expertise on various retail systems and platforms.

Additionally, this role involves owning and managing the IT Lab along with its related assets. Responsibilities encompass overseeing lab utilisation and ensuring appropriate system setups for test or development conducted within the lab environment. There will also be an element of testing that will require this role to participate in.

This is a permanent position based in our Alexandria, Sydney HQ, with flexible, hybrid work options available.

**Key duties**:

- Review and recommend for approval, technical documents (e.g. Solution design, detailed design, Test Plans, Implementation plans etc) of changes that impact Store Systems.
- Work with vendors to create technical specifications or low level design documents as needed and progress them to sign off with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical input for Project Stakeholders in the areas of integration design, setup/installation/configuration of Store Systems.
- Provide technical assistance with Pilots and Proof of Concept activities, including on-site visits to Retail Stores
- Responsible to ensure detailed technical support & transition documentation is provided by Project teams
- Build and develop effective working relationships with business & customers to ensure business strategies are understood.
- Manage the access to both the IT Lab and Retail IT comms room.
- Manage the inventory process and listing for all assets related to the IT Lab

**About you**:

- Retail experience required
- Proven experience in Application Management and Product lifecycle
- Hands-on scripting/development experience desired: e.g. SQL, Shell, Python, C#, JavaScript
- Fuels Forecourt technologies, Backoffice, Merchandising, Loyalty (Business or IT experience) desired
- Sound general IT experience including systemic knowledge of IT development, SDLC, operational and change management processes and methodologies
- Desirable to have knowledge of Retail Applications managed by Diebold Nixdorf: POS, DOMS, Loyalty Engines, Cloud Services.
- Desirable to have specific knowledge of Ampol environments, architectures, technologies and IT services.
