About the Role

We have a new & exciting food retail opportunity with the launch of SIMON JOHNSON at David Jones where we will present our quality products in the concession counters of these iconic food halls. Our passion is to deliver a curated range of local and imported cheeses, fresh caviar & truffles, and an enticing range of antipasto & charcuterie, all sourced from our amazing producers. Our commitment is to provide our customers with a high-quality & engaging shopping experience at all times.

Our Assistant Store Managers are passionate about food as well as customer service, demonstrating proven food retail experience, with a solid understanding of operating systems, supporting successful teams, working within budgets and exceeding expectations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Provide exceptional customer service at all times - where the customer will have a memorable and meaningful experience in our store.
Help build the customer base through high levels of customer service and provide extensive product knowledge
Meet monthly sales budgets - achieve budgets on all levels with the objective of increasing revenue and exceeding expectations
Support resilient teams through strong communication, training, motivation and a sense of fairness and team spirit, and maintaining professionalism at all times.
Ensure the store is clean and looking its best at all times and work areas, machinery, furniture, utensils, equipment are cleaned and well maintained
Work within our quality assurance standards
Manage all movements of incoming/outgoing goods and ensure accuracy in transfers, purchases, and invoices
Maintain pricing and POS - invoicing through bar-coding procedures to be monitored; monitoring prices of other local retailers to ensure market competitiveness
Ensure products on shelves are label correctly and complete regular cycles of stock-takes
Follow company processes for month end requirements
Manage used-by and/or best before dates in the store through stock rotation and management
Operate POS registers and ensure banking processes are completed and accurate
Daily banking to be reconciled and secure

**Skills and Experience**:
Prior experience in food retail will be viewed favourably
Experience in customer service-oriented roles
POS experience is an advantage
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook).
Strong work ethic with weekend availability
Organisational & time management capabilities with a focus on multitasking and reprioritising
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
Positive attitude, proactive and shows initiative and works well under pressure
A can-do, team-focused attitude is essential for success
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to liaise confidently with customers and team members - excellent customer service skills
Attention to detail - Accurate key entry skills
