The role: The position of the Manager - T&D QLD/NT is to develop and lead the team to identify, win and deliver projects to a consistently high standard of timeliness, quality and in line with the business plan. The position provides competent management and business development skills (including industry profiling activities; sourcing new clients; repeat work from existing clients) to expand the Market team capability in the State and source business opportunities to support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. The incumbent will role model the SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and all aspects of this position will be carried out according to these guiding principles. Key Accountabilities: - Provide technical leadership and guidance across the team’s portfolio with an outcome related focus- Provide input to the group business plan and implement the team’s components of the plan- Growth of the team through targeted client relationship management and business development activity- Manage the commercial performance of the team- Effective management and leadership of the team to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development- Provide input to projects at a project management and/or review level to achieve reliable project performance in terms of both timeliness and quality Experience- Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, RPEQ or ability to obtain- Minimum 10 year’s of practical experience in the T&D industry- An understanding of business, organisation and marketing context of business solutions- High level of knowledge and experience with NSP and regulatory bodies/ requirements- Demonstrated ability to successfully undertake and deliver client’s TOR within budget and timelines- Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects;- Manage Market projects of >$1m successfully to budget and client specifications- Providing final review of technical reports and proposals to ensure a high quality and standard The incumbent will role model SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principle At SMEC, you will benefit from working in a flexible global organisation with exposure to international best practice engineering design.
