There is currently an opportunity for an innovative leader to join the Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions business unit as the **Asset Lifecycle Manager**. In this role, you can be based out of Unitywater's North or South offices (in Caboolture or Maroochydore, QLD). Unitywater embraces flexible working, and as such, you will have the support to execute this role with a mixture of in-office and work from home days.
**The Opportunity**
The Asset Lifecycle Manager is responsible for leading the development and optimisation of maintenance and renewal plans for diverse asset base including 17 Sewage Treatment Plants (Process Plants), 800 Sewage Pump Stations and over 12,000Km of pipelines.
Key to the role will be delivery of concept designs for the annual asset renewal program ($60M), together with the refinement of the five-year renewal and replacement forecast (up to $300M).
**Role Responsibilities**
- The provision of technical leadership and advice on implementing asset management plans in line with the company's Corporate Strategy and the strategic asset management frameworks
- Preparation of a forward program (target of 3 years) of concept business cases and provide problem identification, root cause, capital, and non-capital solutions recommendations for best business outcomes
- Work closely with key stakeholders across the business to optimise the renewal portfolio for ease of delivery (bundling, delivery approach, alignment with plant shutdowns) whilst ensuring technical solutions are aligned with internal standards and company long term goals
- Provide engineering expertise to optioneering and design solutions ensuring technical solutions will deliver intended benefits and result in the lowest whole of life costs.
- Assisting the Capital Works Planning Section to prepare the annual and 5-year Capital works program and contribute to the reporting to the clients Board.
- Drive the maintenance management framework improvements in line with the Strategic Asset Management Plan
- Develop, implement, and constantly evolve the methodologies for condition assessment and forecasting of renewals works.
- Contribute to the preparation of an annual budget proposal for operational and capital expenditure for the Asset Knowledge and Performance Branch.
**Position Requirements**
- A degree in Engineering with eligibility to obtain RPEQ
- Experience leading engineering teams in asset rich industries (including water, mining or oil and gas).
- Extensive experience in the development of asset interventions plans (maintenance, renewal, and replacement), translating strategy to execution and managing the balance between risk, cost, and performance.
- Significant experience with delivering outcomes in line with contemporary asset management systems. Experience in maintenance transformation programs and implementing asset health monitoring systems (as an alternative to visual inspections) would be highly regarded.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO55000 and delivery of benefits through good asset management.
- Experience balancing the introduction of innovation and change with the need to continually meet targets and objectives.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and influence and negotiate where necessary.
