About the job

An exciting opportunity exists within our Global Procurement team for a customer-focused and commercially driven Procurement Officer that will support and manage a broad range of activities for our Corporate and Functional departments.

Reporting into our Senior Commodity Manager of Indirect Services and working as part of a dynamic and talented team that are located at our HQ in Booragoon, in this role you will enable your internal business customers to achieve their objectives through minimising and mitigating commercial risks, reducing the total cost of acquisition and ownership and through performance management, and obtaining the expected benefits from contractual agreements.

As our Procurement Officer, you will be focusing on and delivering value by:
- Working closely and partnering with business customers to identify requirements and assist in developing robust purchasing and contract specifications.- Supporting in competitive bidding of supplier spending including running tenders.- Monitoring and managing supplier performance to ensure conformance to agreed contract terms and leading the resolution process.- Gathering and analysing market data, performing business intelligence to build upon local market and network knowledge that will support with your customers specific needs.- Performing supplier evaluations to confirm their capabilities whilst managing risk and performance metrics.- Developing and executing sourcing, procurement and contracting strategies including negotiation of contracts, tracking and reporting of commercial terms and cost savings.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Sound business knowledge working within a manufacturing environment in a similar Procurement or Commercial role.- Demonstrated experience in developing procurement strategies and effectively negotiating pricing and contract terms and conditions.- A proactive approach to building and maintaining positive business relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels.- Proven ability to influence change, overcoming resistance in order to achieve strategic goals and objectives.- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Commerce or related field of study would be considered highly desirable.- Effective time management capable in balancing multiple conflicting priorities in different time zones.
