**The Role**
The APS 4 Establishment Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex position management and transactional work within a dynamic team. They are accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions and seek guidance when required.
They may exercise some discretion with respect to how legislation, procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied to their work. They will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the HR strategy and design function.
The APS 4 Establishment Officer will be required to share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities, develop local procedures, and may be required to communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
**About our Team**
The APS Establishments are responsible for the validation and management of position data within the Defence HR information system named PMKeyS (Personnel Management Key Solution).
The requirement for the HR Corporate System is to accurately record the historical data of locations is critical as this may impact on compensation, Work Health & Safety, performance management, workforce reporting.
Under direction from approved delegates, the team creates, amend and disestablish APS positions to assist units within the Department of Defence to pursue their strategies and meet their goals.
- Will be accountable to maintain and update establishment administrative databases and spreadsheets.
- Will interrogate Defence corporate HR information systems to identify and resolve any data errors or inconsistencies.
- Will utilise Defence corporate HR information systems to update positions, resolve general establishment queries and to compile reports.
- Will liaise with key stakeholders on establishment and position management activities.
- Will work collaboratively in a team based environment actively participating in and contributing to team meetings.
- Will interpret and provide guidance on the management of moderately complex establishment and position management activities.
- Will evaluate, analyse and transact within the Defence corporate HR information system to meet agreed timeframes.
- Will manage, file and maintain establishment files and documentation in line with Defence policies.
- Will prioritise work and resolve moderately complex problems to achieve outcomes.
