Want the flexible opportunity to work within 8.45am - 3.15pm while the kids are at school or while studying? We have an exciting program expanding opportunity to join the genU community team as a Day Service Practitioner to support our clients in reaching their full potential while engaging in skill-building activities in and around Wyndham. You will support and engage with individuals of a younger cohort, to participate in a range of exciting programs, such as community access, recreational activities (arts and crafts), life skills (cooking) and fitness activities. Here, no two days are the same
**Key Responsibilities**
As a **Day Service Practitioner**, you will but not limited to:
- Supporting people to participate in fun, enriching day programs and outings while promoting respect and choice for all clients.
- Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support.
- Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.
- Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4.
- Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing.

- Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances.
- Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports.
- Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
- Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.
- Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

**Requirements**:
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent;
- Current First Aid and CPR certification;
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain);
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
