Being an OSHC educator holds a lot of flexibility to prioritise study or family needs, and at the Y, you might just discover a family of your own - we have a supportive on the ground and at head office.
**What being an OSHC Educator Entails**
OSHC educators care for children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. Highlights include running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children - such as science experiments, outdoor games and painting.
As an OSHC Educator you will:
- hold a rewarding, challenging and interesting position;
- be able to allocate your availability to suit study or family needs;
- have the opportunity for career advancement;
- join a team of dedicated staff and fantastic children and families;
- be eligible for staff incentives and discounts; and
- be provided with regular professional development and training.
**Your workspace at the Y**
We are able to accommodate children from Pre-Prep level as we have an Early Childhood educator and a suitable program catered to their current needs and interests.
Our outdoor environment is flexible and adaptable, so children can change it around during play in loose parts, the mud kitchen and cubby house areas.
Our service is secured in a fully fenced area, so we have our own space away from the rest of the school. Our more popular activities are the awesome cubby house & mud kitchen within our outdoor area as our children prefer playing outside with one another, especially in the warmer months Our loose parts area also proves very popular most days as does our basketball hoops and handball court. We do of course cater for those rainy days with a Nintendo Switch and movies that the children can relax and enjoy.
**To be successful you must have**:
- A Certificate or Diploma qualification in Children Services or equivalent or if you are studying towards a relevant qualification
- A Fantastic sense of fun & a tremendous imagination
- Hold or are willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Blue Card or willing to obtain one
